Part 1 of post Drake Relays 5000 race interview with Central Missouri XC/Distance Coach Kirk Pederson and his standout trio of Dalton Moberly, Brett Carter, and Laban Sialo. The trio led the Mules to the 2010 MIAA conference xc title and to NCAA Nationals. The trio qualified for indoor nationals with Sialo and Carter earning All-American honors to help the Mules take the fourth place trophy.

The Lincoln University quartet of Steve Banton, Dwain Bryden, Dane Hyatt, and Terrel Cotton claimed the 2011 Drake Relays College Men’s 4×200 title. The Lincoln Blue Tigers have dominated the sprint relays the last decade at the Drake Relays, earning many Drake Champion Flags.

Kansas City area stars and former Missouri State Champsions Brittany Bruce-Lee’ Summit West, and Tiffani McReynolds-Pembroke Hill, join forces for the Baylor Bears and claim the 2011 Drake Relays University Womens 4×200 Championship. Bruce the senior and McReynolds the freshman talk about their journey’s to Baylor and their track seasons.



South Dakota sophomore Bethany Buell is the former Missouri Class 4 pole vault state Champ and state meet record holder. She was one of the top 30 women in DI indoors in the vault but didn’t show up on the performance list because of South Dakota is still transitioning to Division I for indoor Track and Field. She’s good to go though for outdoors and will be doing her best to qualify for the NCAA first round. She is coached by Derek Miles, one of the top vaulters in the world.

Talks about winning her 2nd straight Drake Relays
Hammer title, competing for team USA last summer at the North America Central
American and Caribbean Championships. Her 2011 indoor season with one of the
top collegiate marks of all-time in the weight throw. Her Goals for the rest of
the season, and competing beyond college. She talks about her head coach Connie
Price Smith, the Missouri native SIU alum and four time Olympian. 
Truman State junior Jennifer Zweifel talks after the womens
triple jump at the 2011 Drake Relays.
The Maryville Missouri native is an All-American jumper for
the Bulldogs.

Missouri senior Aaron Dixon interview following the men’s
800 at the 2011 Drake Relays. He talks about being a part of the great Mizzou
middle distance tradition, and joining the Mizzou program as well as his
experience at the 2010 NCAA Championships and USATF National Championships. 
Bradley senior Mary Goldkamp talks after her 8th place finish in the women’s 1500 in a school record and personal best of 4:23.29. The McCluer North graduate who played soccer and ran cross country is now shining no the track.
Central Missouri junior Lindsay Lettow interview after the
2011 Drake Relays. Lettow , the Urbandale Iowa native and Des Moines Christian
HS grad, has earned multiple all-american honors and captured the 2011 NCAA DII
Indoor Nationals Pentathlon Championship with a meet record score of 4064. She
scored 5610 in the heptathlon in March at a meet in Texas, which is currently
almost 700 points ahead of the next best DII mark while she sits fifth on the
current collegiate overall list.  

Central Missouri junior Brent Vogel interview after the 2011
Drake Relays. The Helias High School graduate is a multiple time All-American
and was the runner-up at the 2011 DII Indoor Nationals in the heptathlon. His
finish helped the mules to another team trophy with their fourth place finish.
He talks about his long sprints/middle distance ability
that’s similar to his Coach’s-Kip Janvrin.
